Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of large-scale manufacturing for a new locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. The first three producers have started production, with 11 more preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Combat Conditions

The drones utilize a domestically developed system called “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in actual battle and proved effective “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” the ministry stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Recent Attack on Kyiv Described as Calculated
