Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the team after the fallout from his public comments.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Team Form
Their results have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, the source has been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and starting to win games.”
