Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the US has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
